Where to Live?

We know the bus routes, bike routes, walking trails and some secrets to help you find the apartment or house that fits your personality, needs, and budget. Start looking early, and we can find you (and your roommates) a pad close to class, close to the fraternity or sorority house, close (or far) from that special someone, or close to that “coffeehouse” where you do most of your “studying”.
Most students who choose to live off-campus do so in one of the following areas:
West Campus:
This is generally the area closest to the University of Texas campus. It is by far the most popular area for UT students. This area features apartments and condos as well as a few houses and duplexes for rent. All properties in this area are within walking distance or a 10 minute shuttle ride to campus. As this area is filled with students, there are many cafes, restaurants, coffeeshops, and other entertainment.
More About West Campus Austin Apartments
North Campus and Hyde Park:
This is the area immediately north of the University of Texas campus. It is a popular area for UT Austin grad students and upperclassmen. This area features apartments as well as condos, houses and duplexes for rent. All properties in this area are within walking distance or a 15 minute shuttle ride to campus. As in West Campus, there are many cafes, restaurants, coffeeshops, and other entertainment. This area has one large supermarket (H.E.B) as well as a large specialty grocery (Central Market).
